Thanks for the compliment on the lines and the fun translation comparison!

The Harvard Chaucer website is very good, I recommend it to people for help with Middle English on a regular basis, but you're right, reading the Tales themselves that way is not enjoyable.

An update: I'm currently using the Standard eBooks Chaucer, which has somewhat modernized spelling (via a 19th-century edition), but otherwise the original text without translation. Between the spelling and footnotes, it's easily readable, and a good compromise between slogging through the original and giving up and using a translation. https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/geoffrey-chaucer/the-canterbury-tales
